Better Beach Days is Shakka's evolving commitment to creating premium beach essentials while building a brand that gives back to the ocean that inspires it. As we shape this mission, we are especially inspired by Mālama Maunalua, a local nonprofit working to restore and conserve Maunalua Bay through habitat restoration, science, education, and community care. Their team is an incredible example of what thoughtful, long-term stewardship looks like in Hawaiʻi. Through hands-on restoration work, community engagement, and a deep commitment to protecting the bay for future generations, they represent the kind of real, local impact that inspires the direction we want Shakka to grow toward.
Why it matters
Coral reefs are a vital part of Hawaiʻi's coastline, marine life, and beach culture. They help protect shorelines, support ocean ecosystems, and make the islands we love feel alive. As coral faces growing pressure from warming oceans and environmental change, we want Shakka to be part of something bigger than products alone. Better Beach Days is our way of building a brand rooted in care, community, and long-term action. Mālama Maunalua's work makes that mission feel real. The direction we are building toward
As Shakka grows, we are working to develop a transparent giving model connected to this mission. We are especially inspired by organizations like Mālama Maunalua, whose work in Maunalua Bay reflects exactly the kind of local, lasting impact we want to support. We are not yet in a formal partnership, but this is the direction we are building toward, honestly and with intention. When we say that $10 goes to this cause, the cleanest and most transparent version is to direct that giving to Mālama Maunalua's official donation channel supporting their restoration work in and around Maunalua Bay.
